The variety belongs to the mid-late maturity group. It combines the high productivity of ryegrass with the hardiness of fescue, providing improved persistence and drought tolerance compared to pure ryegrass stands. The variety possesses high cell wall digestibility and forms an insignificant amount of stems in the aftermath following mowing.

Betria is intended for the establishment of pastures and hayfields within long-term field forage crop rotations. The variety is suitable for cultivation on mineral and drained peat soils, as well as in foothill and mid-mountain regions. Good disease resistance is reported.
