Hykor morphologically resembles tall fescue and belongs to intermediate maturity hybrids. It is characterized by early spring regrowth and early heading, possessing a high yield potential with good dry matter accumulation rates during the summer period.
The plant is resistant to drought, heat, and high groundwater levels, and is noted for its persistence in the sward. In terms of nutritional value, it surpasses meadow fescue and tall fescue due to its increased sugar and energy content.
The variety is used in grass mixtures with ryegrasses and legumes for silage production, and is also effective for winter livestock grazing.
