The Perun variety is a hybrid of meadow fescue and Italian ryegrass, possessing traits of the ryegrass type with increased hardiness. It is an early-maturing plant distinguished by very rapid spring regrowth and intensive development at the beginning of the growing season.
The plant possesses good resistance to diseases such as rust, powdery mildew, and leaf spot. The forage mass of the variety is characterized by high quality and a significant sugar content, which makes it suitable for silage production.
The variety is intended for use in pure stands or as part of grass mixtures with perennial grasses and clover. Due to its ability for rapid rooting, Festulolium Perun can be used as a cover crop when undersowing alfalfa.
