The variety is bifere, capable of producing two crops per year, and parthenocarpic, requiring no pollination. Its origin is linked to the Salento area (Grecìa salentina). The variety is intended for fresh consumption.

First-crop fruits (fioroni) reach a weight of 90–120 g and have a pear shape with pronounced longitudinal ribs. The skin is of medium thickness, green in color, covered with light-colored lenticels. The flesh is dense, juicy, and dark red with a granular texture. The peduncle is short and stout.
