The plant has lanceolate leaves of a glaucous-green shade. The flowers open sequentially from bottom to top and are densely arranged on the flower stalk, forming inflorescences resembling a minaret.

Flowering occurs in late spring to early summer. The variety is a vigorously growing plant requiring well-drained soil. It is sensitive to excess moisture, which can provoke bulb rot.
