The variety was bred through individual selection and crossing from populations of Galega orientalis, specifically the Gale variety. The plants are characterized by an early start of the growing season, rapid growth, and reach a height of 80 to 150 cm, sometimes up to 200 cm.

The crop possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests. The variety is valued for its high protein content; however, due to low resistance to trampling, it is not suitable for free livestock grazing. In addition to forage use, the plant is a good honey plant and a raw material for biogas.
