The Vulcano variety is officially registered as a cotton cultivar. In the early 2000s, it was used in industrial cotton production in Spain.

In scientific studies focused on genotype screening, the variety was tested for drought tolerance. Yield indicators for raw cotton and fiber output were recorded, but detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are not publicly available.
