Variety description

The plant forms a dense clump 30-50 cm high and about 40 cm in diameter. The leaves are very large; their color varies throughout the season from burgundy with a silvery coating and dark veins to silvery-coffee and deep purple tones.

Flowering occurs from June to September; the peduncles bear small cream-white or white-pink flowers. The variety is vigorous, does not lodge, and tolerates high temperatures and humidity well. Prefers partial shade; due to the growth characteristics of the rhizome, annual hilling is recommended.
