The plant forms a dense cushion-shaped bush 15–20 cm tall with peduncles up to 35–45 cm and a width of up to 40 cm. Medium-sized leaves have a wavy-rounded edge; their color varies from wine-red to bronze, with young leaves often distinguished by brighter pink and orange-red shades.

Flowering occurs from April to July with small bell-shaped cherry-red flowers on sturdy peduncles. The variety withstands temperature drops down to -30 °C (USDA zones 4–9) and is semi-evergreen. The crop is sensitive to stagnant moisture, but generally features good resistance to diseases and pests.
