The variety is a compact evergreen or semi-evergreen plant with rounded lobed leaves. The rosette height is 15–17 cm; with flower stalks, the plant reaches 24–25 cm, and the bush width varies from 25 to 35 cm. The leaf color changes throughout the season: in spring they are copper-brown, and by summer and autumn they darken to almost black with a purple hue.
Small bell-shaped flowers ranging from white to pale pink are gathered in paniculate inflorescences on purple flower stalks. The flowering period lasts from late spring to mid-summer or early autumn. The variety has good winter hardiness and drought tolerance, and prefers partial shade and well-drained soils.
The plant is used in landscape design for creating borders, decorating rock gardens and rockeries, and growing in containers. It is propagated mainly by vegetative means, including division of the bush, cuttings, and tissue culture method.
