Variety description

The plant forms a dense rosette 20–40 cm tall, with flower stalks reaching 40–55 cm. Leaves are rounded, with shallow lobes and a ruffled margin. Leaf coloration is variable: from dark purple, almost black, to bright lime with contrasting red veins.

Flowering occurs from May to July. Small cream or pink flowers are gathered in panicle inflorescences. The variety is relatively undemanding, possesses good winter hardiness and moderate drought tolerance. Prefers sunny sites or partial shade and well-drained, moist soils.

The plant is used for planting in borders, flower beds, and also in containers and pots. It may be subject to damage by slugs, snails, or weevils.
