The cultivar is a triploid hybrid and is part of a series together with the Rio and Sampa cultivars. One of the key features of the plant is its resistance to infection by the fungus Stagonospora curtisii, which causes red blotch.

The plant is intended primarily for pot cultivation in home conditions, and can also be cultivated in the open field in regions with a mild climate corresponding to USDA zones 8–11.
