The classic variety Roma is characterized by a saturated red color of the petals with a velvety sheen and possible lightening at the base. The plant was used both in pot culture and for cutting.

The Double Roma variety belongs to the Double Galaxy group and is distinguished by large flowers with a diameter of 18–20 cm. The flowers have a rounded shape with red coloration and a burgundy hue; the petals are round-oval, slightly curved, with a point at the tips.
