The variety is a specialized malting barley derived from Moravian varieties used in the creation of the first Pilsner-type beer. The plant is of the two-row spring barley type.

The variety's production is valued for its high extractivity, excellent germination potential, and moderate protein content. In the brewing process, the grain contributes to the formation of a pronounced malt aroma and good foam stability.

Agronomically, the variety has proven itself as a reliable crop with good yield, maintaining a historical link to high resistance to leaf rust through its genetic lines.
