The variety is the result of recurrent selection using genetic male sterility. During the selection process, special attention was paid to agronomic traits, including plant height, ear size, and seed size.

The plant possesses increased straw strength. The variety is adapted to the conditions of regional agriculture in the USA and is used in research on grain cultivation under water-deficit conditions.
