The Bond barley variety possesses high grain yield. The stem of the variety is characterized by very low tendency to lodging and breaking.
The plant possesses low susceptibility to leaf spot, but is susceptible to the first and second races of cereal cyst nematode. A slight tendency to ear breaking is noted if harvesting is delayed.
