Bonnovi is a facultative mid-early variety with good stem stability and lodging resistance. The variety is characterized by high grain yield and high test weight values.
A key feature of the variety is the combination of resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus, barley mild mosaic virus (GMV1, GMV2), and barley yellow dwarf virus. The variety also possesses high resistance to leaf rust and balanced resistance to other foliar diseases.
