Variety description

10 August 2026

The Cerise variety is used in breeding work as one of the components of barley pedigree lines. It is utilized as genetic material in the development of new varieties.

The plant exhibits cleistogamous resistance to loose smut (Ustilago nuda). This defense mechanism prevents contact between fungal spores and the ovary during the flowering phase.
