The variety Dialog is used in scientific research in the field of genetics and barley breeding. It acts as a parent variety in the development of later hybrids, in particular, it is mentioned in the context of the origin of the varieties Smilla and Cabaret.
In studies on pathogen susceptibility, the variety is characterized by relative resistance to leaf rust compared to a number of other varieties. Specific agronomic parameters, such as plant height, maturity dates, and grain quality indicators, are absent in open publications.
