A variety of spring malting barley with a two-row cylindrical ear of medium density and hulled caryopsis. The plant is of the short- to medium-height type, characterized by lodging resistance and flexible sowing dates.
The variety possesses marked resistance to powdery mildew due to the presence of the mlo-gen 11 gene, as well as tolerance to scald and moderate resistance to covered smut. At the same time, it may show susceptibility to loose smut, helminthosporiosis, and root rots.
The grain is distinguished by high plumpness and uniformity. The variety belongs to the High FAN type with a high free amino nitrogen content, high diastatic power, proteolytic activity, good cytolysis, and high malt extractivity. In addition to brewing, it is suitable for the production of pearl barley.
