The Luka barley variety belongs to the category of varieties bred within the breeding program of the Agricultural Institute in Osijek. Characteristic features of this variety are a short and strong stem, as well as excellent resistance to lodging.
The plant possesses tolerance to major barley diseases. Its productivity and length of the vegetation period are adapted to the climatic conditions of Southeastern Europe.
