The variety belongs to the two-row spring barley type (variety nutans). In early 2000s publications, it was considered primarily as a malting variety, with grain extractivity levels noted at 80.4%.

The variety was used as genetic material in scientific experiments. Research covered plant physiological responses, including protein content, aluminum tolerance, and resistance to diseases, in particular to loose smut.
