The variety was developed based on the Emir variety. In scientific literature, it is valued as a valuable genetic resource used in breeding programs for gene mapping and improving disease resistance of new varieties.
Pompadour possesses high resistance to leaf rust Puccinia hordei, due to the presence of the Rph20 gene, and also exhibits resistance to stripe rust and helminthosporiosis. Data on agronomic indicators of commercial production, such as yield or grain quality, are absent in the sources.
