The variety is a two-row barley with medium plant height and a semi-compact ear, the awns of which have a reddish hue. The plant is characterized by high tillering capacity and adaptability to various growing conditions.

The variety possesses high resistance to powdery mildew, brown rust, Helminthosporium leaf spot, and Rhynchosporium. The grain is distinguished by high weight and caliber with a medium to medium-low protein content.

Rubiana is a facultative variety with a high degree of alternation. The recommended seeding rate is 180–200 kg/ha, the optimal sowing period lasts from the beginning of November to the beginning of February.
