The variety is a multi-row winter barley with a medium heading time and medium-late maturity. Rubino plants are classified as tall. The variety has low lodging resistance and a susceptibility to stem and ear breakage.
The grain is distinguished by high quality indicators, in particular, a very high test weight and high plumpness. The variety has resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV) types 1 and 2, and also shows balanced resistance to major leaf diseases.
Rubino is a feed variety. Test results demonstrate yield fluctuations depending on the soil type and climatic conditions of a specific year.
