The variety is a two-row spring barley. Plants at a young age have a semi-erect or prostrate habit, characterized by nodding narrow spikes and a short stem neck under the spike.
The variety was distinguished by good adaptation to light soils and conditions with lower precipitation. Compared to earlier varieties, it possessed a stronger straw, which increased resistance to lodging.
The grain of the variety was highly valued in brewing, and the barley itself was actively used by breeders as a parent form for developing new varieties of cereal crops.
