The plant forms a dome-shaped mound 30–40 cm high and 60–80 cm wide. The narrow lanceolate leaves have a deep blue color with a glaucous bloom in the spring, which transitions to a blue-green shade by midsummer. The petioles are adorned with characteristic red speckles.

Flowering occurs in mid-to-late summer with pale violet flowers on tall scapes. The variety has a medium to high growth rate, is characterized by resistance to slugs, and requires moderate moisture, preferring areas without deep shade or excessive dryness.
