This hybrid was obtained by crossing Solanum lycopersicum and Solanum habrochaites species. It is classified as specialized material for professional seed production and greenhouse cultivation.

The primary purpose of the plant is to increase the vigor and resistance of the scion to soil-borne diseases. Characteristics of maturity, height, or other consumer properties for fruits are absent, as Asiapoot is not intended for cultivation for harvest.
