The hybrid is the result of crossing Solanum lycopersicum and Solanum habrochaites. Its primary agronomic role is to improve the productivity and viability of cultivated tomato varieties when used as a rootstock.

Morphologically, the hybrid is characterized by the formation of very small or small fruits that are not intended for human consumption. In UPOV documentation, this variety is used as a reference sample when describing the characteristics of tomato rootstock forms.
