The hybrid is the result of an interspecific cross between Solanum lycopersicum and the wild species Solanum habrochaites. Its primary function is to provide a developed root system for the scion portion of tomatoes, which allows for improved resistance of cultivated vegetable crops to soil-borne pathogens and environmental stress factors.

This hybrid is classified as specialized material for agrotechnical use and is not intended for fruit production. Specific characteristics and the spectrum of resistance depend on operational conditions and the combination with a specific scion.
