The shrub is distinguished by a dense and strong structure with decorative green foliage. The inflorescences are of the «mophead» type and consist predominantly of sterile flowers. The size of the bush varies from compact (20–30 cm in container cultivation) to 1.2 m in height and width.
Flowering begins in early summer. The coloration of the inflorescences depends on the soil acidity level and the content of aluminum salts. The plant requires protection from low temperatures, as flower buds are set on last year's shoots.
