The variety JON01 was discovered in 2001 as a natural mutation (sport) of the variety «Taube». The plant is intended for ornamental use in gardens or containers.
Lacecap-type inflorescences differ from the parent variety in their dark pink-red color. The plant habit is characterized as compact. Disease resistance corresponds to the typical indicators for the species Hydrangea macrophylla.
