Variety description

The plant is a compact and dense deciduous shrub with a height of about 1.4–1.5 m and a similar width. The bush is characterized by erect and strong shoots that do not require staking. Foliage is dark green, broadly ovate, with a serrated margin.

Mophead-type inflorescences are large, dense, and spherical. Flowering occurs in the period from July to September. The color of the inflorescences depends on the soil pH level: on neutral and alkaline soils the flowers are deep pink, while on acidic soils they acquire purple and dark purple-blue shades.

The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zones 6a–8b and withstands temperature drops down to -25 °C. The plant is demanding of soil moisture and the availability of a sheltered planting site. The inflorescences are suitable for use as cut flowers and for dried flower arrangements.
