The Klazu variety, known by the trade name Black Steel Blue, is characterized by spherical inflorescences of a saturated blue color. The intensity of the flower coloration directly depends on soil acidity: in an acidic environment, blue shades become deeper.

The plant reaches 100–120 cm in height and is distinguished by dark, almost black shoots. The flowering period lasts from the beginning to the end of summer. The shrub prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soils, and is suitable for creating borders.
