The plant is an upright, compact shrub. The variety is heat-loving and, like many other classic representatives of its species, requires protection in harsh winter conditions.

The variety has historically been used in ornamental gardening, as well as a greenhouse or potted crop. Flowering depends on climatic conditions and the ability to set flower buds.
