Variety description

The variety is a shrub with erect, vigorously growing shoots, the height of which varies from 1.4–1.5 to 2 meters. The foliage is large, up to 15 cm, dark green in color, with serrated edges.
Large, flat inflorescences consist of small fertile flowers in the center, surrounded by larger sterile flowers. The color varies from purple-pink to violet; with a low pH and the presence of aluminum in the soil, the fertile flowers acquire a blue shade. Sterile flowers can change color to antique shades upon maturation.
The plant prefers rich, moist soils and partial shade; it can grow in the sun provided there is high soil moisture. The variety is sufficiently winter hardy down to -25 °C and requires winter cover to protect the shoots. Used as a solitaire, in group plantings, hedges, and containers.
