The shrub has a spreading, rounded shape, reaching a height of 1.2–1.5 m with a comparable crown width. The leaves are large, elliptical or ovate, bright green with a serrated edge.

Mophead-type inflorescences reach 12–25 cm in diameter. On acidic soils with pH 4.5–5.5, the flowers become intensely blue or indigo, on neutral and slightly alkaline ones — pink or lilac.

Flowering is prolonged, from June to September-October. There is conflicting data regarding the flowering type: on previous year's shoots or on both current and previous year's shoots together.

The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zone 6 (down to -23°C); in temperate climates, it requires covering or cultivation in containers. It prefers partial shade, protection from wind, and regular watering, and is characterized by relative disease resistance.
