The Nightingale variety, also known as Nachtigall, is a vigorously growing shrub with a rounded crown and large light green oval leaves. The inflorescences are of the lacecap type and consist of central fertile flowers surrounded by larger sterile ones.

The color of the petals varies from blue to purple or pink, which is determined by soil acidity. The plant is characterized by high viability, tolerates windy conditions, and has winter hardiness down to -18 °C. It is used for solitary plantings, borders, or cut flowers.
