The Sun Goddess variety is characterized by golden leaf coloration, also known by the synonyms Yellow Leaf, Lemon Zest, and Ogonba. The plant forms globular inflorescences that can be pink or blue depending on soil acidity and the presence of aluminum. Flowering occurs in the spring period.

The plant habit is a shrub about 1.2 meters in height and width. The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zones 8a–9b and requires protection in regions with cold climates. The plant exhibits salt tolerance and adaptability to coastal conditions.

Cultivation requires rich, well-drained soils with constant moisture. The plant develops well in sites ranging from sunny to mostly shaded. In landscape design, it is used in border plantings, cottage gardens, and woodland areas.
