The plant has a compact form in pot cultivation, reaching a height of 50–95 cm. Cut stems are typically 40–60 cm long. Inflorescences are hemispherical, 20–25 cm in diameter, consisting of 4.5–6 cm flowers without a pronounced scent. The leaves are dark green, large, 15–25 cm long, with a pointed tip.

Flower color varies from light purple to blue, deep blue, or pink; a white form is also encountered. The plant prefers partial shade or sun and requires moist, well-drained soil. When cut, inflorescences maintain freshness for up to 3 weeks.
