Variety description

The plant is a spreading shrub with a dense spherical crown 0.8 to 1.5 m tall, sometimes up to 2 m. The large bright green glossy leaves have an elliptical or obovate shape with serrated margins.

Inflorescences consist of central small fertile flowers, the color of which depends on the soil pH level, and large sterile marginal flowers of white color. The flowering period lasts from July to September or October.

The variety prefers moist, humus-rich acidic or slightly acidic soils and wind-protected areas with partial shade. The plant has relative winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zone 6 and requires covering in cold climates to protect flower buds.
