The plant is one of the shortest varieties of Hydrangea macrophylla. The height of the bush is usually 30–60 cm; in the absence of pruning, it can reach 90–150 cm. The foliage is glossy, dark green, with serrated edges.

Mophead-type inflorescences have a globular shape and a small size (about 10 cm in diameter). Flowering occurs in July–August. The variety is relatively winter-hardy, and thanks to its compact size, it is suitable for container cultivation and use as a border plant.
