Variety description

The plant is a deciduous shrub 80–120 cm in height. The leaves are oval with a pointed tip, dark green on the upper side and lighter, pubescent on the underside, with finely serrated margins.

The inflorescences are of medium size and spherical in shape. At the budding stage, they have a pale green hue; when fully opened, they become creamy-white, and towards the end of the flowering season, pinkish tones may appear. The variety is sometimes referred to as Sterilis due to the predominance of sterile flowers.

The flowering period occurs in the second half of summer, from June–July to August. Under harsh winter conditions, the shrub may suffer frost damage, but it often recovers from basal shoots.
