The plant forms thin, medium-green linear leaves that elongate after the flowering period. The flowers may have a light fragrance and are located on upright peduncles.
The variety is winter hardy (USDA zones 4a–9b) and demonstrates resistance to Verticillium wilt. The plant propagates well by offsets and prefers sunny sites with well-drained soil, requiring a dry dormant period in summer.
Used as an ornamental crop for landscaping rock gardens, borders, container cultivation, or under the canopy of trees and shrubs.
