The Dutch iris Blue Pearl is a bulbous perennial with a height of 50–60 cm with narrow gray-green leaves. The flowers possess dark blue standards and more saturated Victoria-violet falls with a bright yellow spot at the base. The plant blooms in late spring or early summer and requires a sunny location with well-drained soil.

The bearded iris Blue Pearl reaches a height of 50–60 cm and has large flowers with a diameter of 12–15 cm in a blue-cyan shade with a yellow beard. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 4a, and is a rhizomatous perennial.

The Japanese iris (Iris ensata) Blue Pearl is a herbaceous perennial that requires specific growing conditions in moist or waterlogged soils. A distinctive feature is the elegant leaves, which can turn bronze tones by autumn.
