The variety is a population with a certain genetic integrity, historically growing on the Bleggio plateau. The trees are characterized by a slow entry into the fruiting phase, which takes about 15 years. The nut harvest is collected in the period from September to October.

The fruits are small in size, oval in shape, and have a thin shell with deep grooves. The light, oily kernel is easily extracted and possesses a sweet, spicy, pronounced aroma. Studies indicate the variety's susceptibility to infestation by nematodes of the species Mesocriconema xenoplax.
