Variety description

The variety is a local genetic line traditionally grown on the Bleggio plateau. The tree starts bearing fruit late, at approximately the 15th year, and harvesting occurs in September-October.

The fruits have an oval shape and a rounded base. The shell is thin, with deep grooves and pronounced ribs along the suture line. The kernel is easily extracted and has a sweet taste with spicy notes.

The variety is historically valued in confectionery production, for oil extraction, and for making Nocino liqueur. The susceptibility of the variety's roots to parasitic nematodes has been studied.
