Trees of this variety are characterized by late entry into fruit-bearing, which occurs approximately 15 years after planting. The variety is late-ripening; harvest is carried out in September-October.

The fruits are small in size and oval in shape, rounded at the base. The shell is thin, with deep grooves and protruding ribs along the suture. The kernel is characterized by oiliness, a light color, a sweet taste with spicy notes, and is easily extracted from the shell.

Scientific literature records the susceptibility of the root system of Bleggiana variety seedlings to infestation by the nematode Mesocriconema xenoplax.
