The G-26 variety belongs to the group of fundamental varieties bred in Geisenheim. Seedlings of this variety are often used by gardeners as rootstock, as they are distinguished by vigorous growth and rapidly form a root collar suitable for grafting.
The variety shows signs of late bud burst and belongs to the early harvest maturity groups. It is characterized by more homogamous flowering, which reduces the degree of dichogamy and promotes better pollination. A number of studies have recorded an average degree of apomixis of approximately 23.5%.
The kernel of the fruit possesses good taste qualities.
