The Czech variety Kardinál is characterized by «polopapírky» type nuts with a medium-thick shell from which the kernel is easily extracted. The variety is known for the presence of forms with red kernel coloration.

The Ukrainian variety Кардинал is described as a precocious tree that begins bearing fruit in 2–3 years. The fruits have a mass of up to 10 g, a thin shell of about 1 mm, and a kernel yield of about 56%. High yields of up to 50–60 kg per tree are noted, as well as resistance to diseases, pests, frost, and drought. Data on tree height varies in the range of 5–6 to 10–12 meters.
